Previous Raiding Experience:
Acted as a main tank and fury-war DPS at different times through Kharazhan on a different server. Guild fell apart trying to get the numbers for 25 man runs before ZA came out.
Goals and Interests In-Game:
RP fun, makin friends, havin fun, maybe gettin some gear in the process. PvE focus, I'll only PvP if someone asks me to run with them.
Availability:
work til ~3:30PM server time, usually break for dinner. Real life events come before WoW. We'll see what happens when I go back to college, but I'll probably become less active there.
Why do you think you belong in Ashes? What can you offer the guild? What do you hope the guild will offer you?
I'm an RPer, friend of Kavije and Swiftfoot. I try to add some level of depth to my characters, giving them a relatively thorough background and a purpose of some kind, usually allowing room for personality growth and development. I'd be interested in raiding as spots become available, but I'm tentative with committing myself to it. Mainly looking for people to chat or RP with and run quests or instances with.
Roleplaying
Character Description (if a roleplayer):
Short short version: Ah'm a burr! (I'm a bear....read on if you want to understand)
Original version:
Tathon Zarano was a large man while he was alive. Positively huge: over 7' tall and weighing over 400 lbs. Mostly because of his size, he was drafted into the Lordaeron army. His unit was one of the few from Lordaeron that fought in the 1st and 2nd wars, and he earned himself a reputation within his unit. He left the military after the 2nd war - never said if he retired, deserted, or was dishonorably discharged - and became a mercenary. Happened to be in one of the very first Scourge encounters, and was killed. For some reason Zarano stayed dead for a long time, during the entirety of the 3rd war and even some time after the Dark Portal to Outland was reopened. When he finally awoke as a free-willed undead, he opted to not join Sylvanas' Forsaken and instead traveled to see what the rest of the Horde had to offer.
Stuff added during actual roleplay (otherwise known as 'long version'):
Perhaps because he was an unanimated corpse for so long (despite appearing well-preserved), Zarano began to develop strange mental issues. He gradually degenerated into an animalistic state, taken over by what seems to be what the trolls call
Primal magic. Due to Zarano's lack of control or understanding and steady rage at not being able to control or understand it, the primal magic consumed him, forcing his concious self into the recesses of his mind. He now saunters on all fours, his behemoth frame and feral demeanor giving him the vague appearance of a bear. He was imprisoned by the Netherealm Outcasts (Kav and Swiftfoot's former guild), where the Outcasts either mistreated, ignored, or tried to control him until one took pity and released him (I left the guild, due to reasons outside of RP).
Now that I'm playing again, I agreed with Swiftfoot to have his character gain some level of control over Zarano, mostly as a mechanic to keep him from running away or going apeshit crazy. His Primal mind is distrustful of everyone and almost constantly hungry. His concious mind, when it arises, tries to seperate himself from others because of his condition (he has more psychology, but we may not get to that unless something is done about the Primal dominance).
Guard Allegiance (if decided):
Dictated by Swiftfoot - likely whichever one she is in. If he becomes himself again, probably the Apothecary Guard - he holds no specific allegiance to Sylvanas, but has no reason to prefer blood elf or orc leadership. Would likely choose the guard based on feelings of loyalty to specific members rather than to any organization or philosophy.
