Magnificent Flying Carpet

Hey hey, tailors are apparently getting their own self-made flying mount: a magic carpet! An interesting and unanticipated move.

Does this cheapen Engineering in any way?
Is it conducive to RP?
Does it suit tailoring?

For me, the answer is 'no' across the board. Engineering has always been about goofy items, and it's easy to fit the entire profession into RP. Tailoring is about making clothes - throwing in a carpet seems very random, much less one that can fly. It's a fun and goofy idea, but doesn't seem to fit well where they put it. Like someone mentioned in the WoW forum: does this mean blacksmiths can make a flying Truesilver Surfboard? After all, it doesn't make any more or less sense than the flying carpet.

And I just took up tailoring two weeks ago...Blizzard has made me happy for once.

I would have linked the source, but I'm at work. Read about it in MMO-Champion, and I think it's from the Blizzcast. Looks for general shenanigans. Will it be able to carry a passenger? Shocked

Personally, I like the idea of being able to craft my own flying mount. But then again I'm also a tailor and mount collector. That being said, I'd much rather have a turbo-powered, nitro-injected autogryo than a piece of cloth that flies. Damn you Engineers with all your shiny gizmos!!!
